I say it deserves an AA. Not bad but the game could have been so much better.Ouch Fable 2 back to AA...

Well, it was a sure fire AAA game to me until I had a game breaking glitch that costed me around 30 hours of gameplay and character building. At first, I thought my 360 was about to die on me again, then I researched and found that I was far from the only one that had this corrupt save file glitch due to the retarded save system the game uses.Despite the bugs, it indeed is a great game, and I had a blast with it before it glitched out on me. All things considered though, I think 8.0-8.5 is just about right for this title....and that is being generous because it is broken. If they ever release a patch that fixes the game breaking glitches, then I will more than likely pick it up again later on down the road. As I sold my copy on Ebay and bought Dead Space.
darn i'm going to break my copy in half now
OK, thanks for telling me.

What causes it? Is there anything you can do to prevent it from happening? I ask because I'm playing right now, pretty far in, and would rather not have it happen if I'm able to avoid it.It really bothers me when games only offer one save slot, just ''save over your current file?'' like Fable II does. I wish it would offer mutliple slots like most other WRPG's do.
fable 2 is a really good game. 89 is about as close to AAA as you get and that's pretty much what it is. I wasnt let down by the game at all. It was what i expected.
haha resistance 2= AA now also
 in other news Resistance 2 have been steadily AA so far...

well, really, its always been AA according to GS, and that's what is used in SW. at any rate, i think its a great game.

Essentially what happens is that your game will just freeze up completely at any random point, causing you to have to restart your console manually. Once the game loads up to the title screen, the game completely freezes up whenever you select 'continue' or 'new game.'Now, once you look in your memory on your dashboard, you will notice a 'unknown game' icon that also says 'corrupted' underneath it. This is in addition to your regular Fable 2 save as well, but needless to say, the save is corrupted and there is no way to play the game again unless you erase the file. Then, once you start a new game, you are lucky to make it past the childhood sequence before the game freezes up again.Currently, there is no fix for this, and it is indeed a game breaking glitch. Just look up '' Fable 2 corrupt save file glitch'' on Google. Better yet, look here at the Fable 2 forum or over at the Lionhead forums. It is a fairly widespread issue, among other numerous bugs the game has. Good luck.

So it looks like there's really nothing I can do to avoid/prevent it?Guess I'll just have to hope for the best. I already got a quest-ending bug where I had to talk to the head of the Light Temple before I escorted his fat daughter to fill up her jug. At first I ran near him and ran away... and when I returned there was no way to advance the quest.... luckily I hadn't saved after originally activating his dialogue so I was able to reload a previous save (losing about an hour's worth of play, but that was the ''best'' worst case scenario) and re-engage the quest. If I had saved after I had originally met him I think I would not have been able to advance the MQ.

Like many games, I believe Fable(I and II) were hurt by their hype. I for one had(and am having) a blast with Fable 2.
Ugh. So it looks like there's really nothing I can do to avoid/prevent it?Guess I'll just have to hope for the best.
Well, not everybody has ran into it, so maybe you will slide by. Hell, I had already beat the main quest and was just trying for 100% when it happened to me. I was busy having a blast buying up the world and finishing the numerous quests that I had left when it hit me out of the blue. 30 hours of gameplay down the drain, man. I was just one of the unlucky ones. Regardless though, it is a confirmed issue with the game that seriously needs to be addressed.
Having briefly peeked into the Lionhead from I have to say it doesn't sound like it deserves an A :| I have done my fair share of complaining about reviews but if I had to review a game with save corrupting bugs I think I would throw it back at the team that made it :?.I miss the days when tey released finished games...

The reviewers can only judge the game based on their personal experience. If it didn't happen to them, then there is no reason for them to drop the score...The closest I've come to the game glitching up is during the childhood phase the sister got caught on something while on the way to a task and it took her about five minutes to catch up and appear again. Other than that, I haven't really noticed any other glitches.
