the sony 10 year promise.

it was an easy thing to do with the ps2 since it sold so much, but with the lack of sales in the ps3 what would be the reason to keep it running for 10 years? the sony 10 year promise.
Too early to tellthe sony 10 year promise.
Sony's aim is 150 million consoles sold within a 10 year lifespan. I think it'll be closer to 100 million within an 8 year lifespan.

there isn't even a 10 life cycle for the pS2. WHat great games have come out for it by Sony since God of War 2? They unofficially stopped supporting it in terms of games.
It woudn't be unlikely. There is more room to grow. I would like better tools to be released for developing games for the PS3, because it's obvious that developers spend a lot more on amazing PS3 games than amazing 360 games. I could be wrong, but these are my observations.
I wouldn't call the PS2 even close to up and running still, there's next to no support for it and it hasn't seen anything beyond a port in the last 2 years. The platform is dead and Sony is just keeping it around so they can point and say ''See! See!!! We did it!!! We produced a console for 10 years!!!'' Just because they keep making and selling them, doesn't mean the console is being supported by developers. The 10 year promise is like the cake, its a lie.
Actually it's around 7-8 million behind. But it's actually selling a lot better in it's first 2 years than the PS1 was. And the PS1 reached 102 million.

Just disputing the myth that the PS2 is a 10 year console.
well they need to whether or not they want to, as they have spent too much money making the console
people need to understand that, when sony said they will have a 10 year life cycle with the PS3, they meant SUPPORTING it for that long, even when PS4 is out, just like the PS2, even tho the PS3 is out.
lol, like making stuff up?the PS2 is a CASH COW, its still sells and SONY can still make money from it. Games are still coming out for it too. HONESTLY, the PS2 is more attractive than the Wii, and why not? PS2 games look better too. Casuals, still buy the thing. the ten year promis isn't far fetched, when did the PS2 launch again?
Its very possible. The PS2 is still getting eclusive RPGs this year. However the way this gen is looking, and considering the manufacturing costs of the PS3, I wouldnt be surprised if the PS4 was released in the PS3's 7th or 8th year instead of the 6th like always.
PS1: 1995-2005PS2: 2000-2009?PS3: 2006-?I think theres a good chance that it will get at least 8 years. PS2 will probably get 9.

Ok, look SONY was hit hard the gen so they might not support the ps3 when the PS4 come out. I see SONY either quit supporting the ps3 once the ps4 comes out or come out with the ps4 much later than 2011- 3012 (when ever they feel its necessary and if I remeber correctly SONY said they want to separate them selfs from the others, so most likely they'll release the Ps4 when ever they feel like it instead of trying to beat MS or Nntendo to it).

The sony 10 year promise: Just Wait LOL??!ahh...cows will never live that down...On Topic: 10 years is going to feel like a long time to buy one system, might be better to wait, see how it does in a year, then buy.
