Are you surprised that LBP isnt selling ...

Fable 2 is killing LBP in sales. Why do you think Fable 2 is selling at basically a 4-1 compared to LBP? Also I know its not official, but you know this is where the numbers are going. Why do you think LBP which is a great game isnt selling that well? Are you surprised that LBP isnt selling ...
LBP's launch was messed up. Most people couldn't find the game until the 28th, where as Fable 2 came out when it was supposed to on the 21st.Are you surprised that LBP isnt selling ...
LBP's launch was messed up. Most people couldn't find the game until the 28th, where as Fable 2 came out when it was supposed to on the 21st.
thats a good point. Didnt think of that.
lol at you thinking LBP would sell more than Fable 2 or even being comparable. the first Fable sold close to 3 million. Did you really think a new ip like LBP stood a chance against it. Then you have take in consideration of the messed up launch. Game is going to bomb hard. Once Resistance 2 and Gears 2 come out nobody is even going to think of LBP anymore.
Fable is proven so there is no surprise there, but LBP, i know the reason why i didn't get it is because 1. no one could tell me what the point of the game was until the reviews came out, and when i asked people, they would just say it is fun (this is pre-release). 2. it just seems not too complicated (as in, i feel as though gameplay would be easy all the time)
LBP's launch was messed up. I am not shocked at all. They will look at it and while sackboy is cute he is also kiddy looking. There will be the type of people that hang on websites like this that will know what the game is like but in the scope of things that is a small number compared to the amount of people that buy games.

Because your average joe does not care about creating levels. Why people thought this would appeal to casuals, all cause it's got some stupid potato sack man on it i don't know. There casual, not completely stupid. Where as flip the coin you have Fable 2, EXTREMELY easy to get to grips on, VERY simple, hell even the magic doesn't have Mana, you can just spam it. It's designed for the casual RPG player and it sucks in the ''hardcore'' as well, it was always going to happen it's just to many people in here fool themselves into thinking SW = Real life.
The game just doesn't appeal to that many people. For all the talk about it being the new casual game, I know I don't waat to play any 2d side scroller that doesn't have a plumber in it any more, and only that is for nostalgic reasons. There are much more fun gametypes and experiences to have instead of playing through a 2d God of War level as Sackboy Kratos.EDIT: especially when your Sackboy CANNOT attack at all. What a lame design desicion.
Some of us tried to warn you this would happen. doesnt matter how good a platformer it is; the genre is not that popular anymore. and the ''creating'' part is not interesting to everyone. it will not be a big seller.
Planescape Torment Grim Fandango etc. = Games that are awesome and considered one of best games ever made - yet they dont sell well

It truly saddens me. We need LBP to do well. It's nice to get new %26 fresh IP's so well created, so if this bombs, it'll hurt the industry a little bit, imho. Although, I'm glad Fable 2's doing well. I just wish LBP could pick up in sales.

This is how a cutesey niche game that's a new IP on a self-styled ''hardcore'' console should sell. Both Viva Pinatas were excellent, but they weren't record breakers... LBP never had a chance to sell in the same ballpark as a game like Fable - good game or no, it's just a poor fit for a blockbuster.
copy paste from earlier post by me:

No one on these boards seemed to come to terms that people outside of gaming forums had no interest or little knowledge about LBP, no one listened. Sony's commercials didnt tell what the game was about, so people outside of the niche market ignored it. Pretty obvious it was going to end up this way.

Also messing up the launch was a big thing too.
