The PlayStation 3 Vending Machine
Universal Pictures and Sony have teamed up to announce the ''PoP'', a joint-venture operation that will see the release of Universal and Sony-branded...vending machines. That dispense Blu-Rays, and DVDs, and CDs, and most relevant to us, PS3 games. Pick your title, insert your cash money/credit card and the PoP will (it's not made clear) either burn the game onto a disc or just (a new vid shows how it's done) spit out a shrink-wrapped, brand new retail copy of the title. Easy as that. The machines will also offer stuff like trailer downloads, which can either be burned to a disc or downloaded directly to your own USB stick or SD card. Bear in mind, this announcement is British in origin. No idea on what form these machines will/may start appearing in for other regions.
------------------------------I dont know if i should laugh or applaud PS3 games on vending machines?
Well...Sony is a Japanese company soooo...the idea of a vending machine for something like this doesn't sound too crazy.PS3 games on vending machines?
Do they really need a vending machine to disperse games and movies? I mean, its not that hard to get out to a Game Stop or Wal-Mart and pick up a game, or even order one off of the internet. Plus, the security on one of those must suck. It seems like a bad investment to me.

Imma go smash one at night and take al lthe games. hahahahaAnd then trade them in at gamestation for credit and buy 360 games.
I dont see the point. The sort of places you would put these machines will be very close to game stores anyway... Plus what about age restricted games?????
The Japanese..........gotta love 'em.

Sounds interesting, although security will be a massive problem, as already mentioned.
Sounds interesting, although security will be a massive problem, as already mentioned.
It looks solid to me. They will think of that. Expect it to be mindblowingly heavy, explosives proof ect. Theres no wondow on that thing. Its like a flightbix, only bigger :P
That's just a Playstation 3.5But who knows, maybe it'll actually sell some Sony products.
Only me who feel a great scepticism against putting 50$ in a vending machine?Seriously, I lost tons of cash on coffee machines.. Its just that its spread out over so long so I dont really care a lot, but I would never even consider putting 509$ in one machine..
