Konami Announces 1 Million Members for M ...

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. Konami's online action game, ''METAL GEAR ONLINE,'' has gained over 1 million members worldwide since the launch of the service in June 2008. To commemorate this achievement, Konami will launch a special campaign, ''METAL GEAR ONLINE: Commemorative Campaign,'' that will officially begin on November 25, 2008, awarding reward points to gamers who access METAL GEAR ONLINE during the promotion. These reward points can be used to purchase new online gear from the in-game reward shop.

During the Commemorative Campaign period of November 25, 2008 from December 9, 2008, all players who own a METAL GEAR ONLINE account (Game IDs) and access METAL GEAR ONLINE will receive 10,000 reward points each. The 10,000 reward points will be updated to account owners on the last day of the campaign, December 9, 2008.

Player characters who access ''METAL GEAR ONLINE'' during the Commemorative Campaign period will also have a chance to be one of 30 people (10 people from each region, North America, Europe and Japan) to receive an additional 100,000 reward points. The 100,000 reward points drawing will happen after the campaign ends and will be awarded the drawn winners on December 16, 2008.

A special GENE and MEME expansion bundle pack will be made available at a special price of $14.99 this holiday season.
SourceGreat news for PS3 owners. I will be putting in overtime during this promotion! :D Konami Announces 1 Million Members for M ...
Too bad only a fraction of that actually plays the game. Konami really really dropped the ball on this one with the Konami ID, Game ID, bull****. They can go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned. Sucks that MGS4 was amazing and MGO was just so poorly implemented. Konami Announces 1 Million Members for M ...
thats nice and all but did they fix the terrible shooting system? the guy can take like 50 shots before he drops and when ever he shoots me i die instantly
MGO died for me when SOCOM came out, and I imagine many others will start migrating as well

The only shooters people play on PS3 or will in the coming months anyway are Resistance 2, Warhawk, SOCOM, and CoD4 and its sequel (for the people who haven't figured out the game takes absolutely no skill whatsoever)
Meh, MGO is ok but it isn't the best.
MGO had potential... but Konami can't run a service and plan things for bloody bear sacks...
I really should play this game again. It's one of my favourite online games.I had no idea there was another expansion pack.
Too bad the game is Poo.
Too bad your opinion =/= fact.Mr Lvl 1 :|
hey atleast Konami is doing something to make MGO interesting. but the problem with all the crap one has to go through just to play it . I do not think its even worth it
thats great MGO is better than Socom
thats great MGO is better than Socom
in a matter of opinion I suppose, but the whole shooting system sucks in MGO, you have to get used to not shooting accurately in order to be successful in getting kills(headshots)
I put in like 150 hours into MGO. It's a fun game. I loved the first MGO on MGS3. This one pretty much improved on everything that one had to offer. With that being said, the MGS4 MGO was a rip off and I'm very disappointed that they made gamers go through all the hoops just to register a name to play the game online. I guarantee plenty of gamers said forget this and didn't even bother going through that process. And don't get me started with the expansion packs. If you have more than one person playing the game you have to buy the DLC twice. It doesn't just go to the console, it goes to the player's account which is even more proof that Konami's intent was to scam people with MGO.
haha if they didnt have the sign up process they would have had the 3-4 million people that bought the game on there instead of just the 1 million. But for the stupid sign up process it's a good achievement to actually get 1 million people to sign up
...so much for MGS4 going to the 360
Hold on, how much did MGS4 sell and it only has a million MGO members? Interesting.
Hold on, how much did MGS4 sell and it only has a million MGO members? Interesting.
Doesn't surprise me really. I came very close to saying screw it and not even bothering to jump through all of Konami's hoops to play it online.
Hold on, how much did MGS4 sell and it only has a million MGO members? Interesting.
That's actually better than I expected, considering you have to go through the crappy process of joining Konami's service instead of using PSN.
To bad MGO is a total joke and cant even hold a candle to socom 3 in the online arena
