I had 3 ps2's die , and after 2 years i had my first 360 die a few days back.the difference is, most of the 360's that die will get fixed for free for 3 years. Are xbox 360's THE most unreliable conso ...
360I am still in disbelief that no government has done something about it. They have literally skrewed the consumer over. I hope my 360 doies not go again since i got mine at launch and so my warranty is nearly out. The 360 is a great systam and has some ggood games but its incredibly annoying.
PS2....went through 4 of them before I said screw it to Sony and their customer supportless POS. My 360 may have died on me 3 times (almost the same time frame for my 4 PS2's mind you) and I've yet to spend an additional dime on having it repaired. Sony on the other hand wouldn't do squat for me even though one of them died only one week AFTER the 3 month warranty was up. Funny thing is, is that even though their customer service sucks balls, I'm considering a PS3 now seeing how there are FINALLY great games coming out for it. :|
Right now I would say that the 360 is in a close 2nd to the PS2. Those things just broke like mad.

as far as i know... yesalthough truth be told the PS2 is right there in second place as far as i'm concerned.... didn't stop it from being an awesome console the sturdiest console i ever played has got to be the gameboy, that thing is built like a tank
Playstation 2. I had two die on me due to the ''disc read error''. In comparison, I've had minimal problems with Xbox360 and I've seen Microsoft hold themselves far more accountable than Sony did in regards to their mistakes. People tend to forget that rather easily I think.
Yes. Ps2 didn't have a 33% failure rate. 360 is the worst console ever In terms of hardware, this is not even debatable. In terms of games it's up their with the best.

This gen so far yes but it's no way near the SNES, PS1 or PS2 in games yet.

the ps 2 was reliable more than anyone gives credit for. every ps 2 that has went on someone it could have been fixed within 10 mins. all you had to do was clean the lens track then the ps 2 would have worked like new. the 360 not so easy they die completely.the ps 2 is alot relable than people relize there systems does not fail it just needs to be cleaned. so if anyone out there have there old ps 2's look on-line to find how to clean the ps 2. then i bet every ps 2 you have wether it is 4 of them ect. they have 4 working ps 2 to trde in for games.
Which console in your opinion is the most unreliable ever? And why?
New account for this? Anyway, I'd have to agree that the answer to most unreliable ever has GOT to be the 360.

This is anecdotal, but I had three, count them, THREE PS2s go DRE on me and I had to pay for every farking one of them. I've had one RROD occur, and I was back playing Fallout 3 within four days of sending it in, and I didn't have to pay a cent.
PS2 hands down. Worst part about their DRE problems were that it was all over the place and (unlike MS) they just denied it the entire time. If Sony had admitted to the fault like MS did there would not have been the backlash that there was.
funny how many people mention the ps2. mine were incredibly sturdy. i even had one fall off my tv (about 3 or 4 feet) that messed it up but i popped it open and fixed it right up, it was pretty obvious what was out of whack. other than that i've had no issues at all with my ps2's. i've owned 4, i had to sell one for money, 2 were stolen from me (i live in the ghetto) and the 4th one im on now is working pretty good and its still the old fat ps2 from god knows how long ago.

Yes atleast to some extent !

If it was, then I'm sure Sony would have had me try that troubleshooting step on both of the times I called in regarding my out of warranty PS2, which they offered to fix for free but I had to pay for shipping. At least MS takes care of the shipping costs. I don't care what anyone says, accountability is a huge part of this issue. Granted it did take a while for MS to step up but when they did, they did far more than Sony ever did or would do.
