Considering the console is half the price, you can colour me unimpressed. Japan should FINALLY swing back in Sony's favour next week with the bundles, LBP and GTA 4. If not, the PS3 is finished in Japan. And the PS3 has already gone back to beating the 360 in Europe and that's before the new 160GB model comes out. But that isn't really the point. Even if the 360 does sell a little better than the PS3 for the rest of the year, the PS3 is still roughly 1.5 million ahead for 2008 in total.

You can color me unimpressed when the 360 wins in WW sales at the end of 2008 as well.

He is saying that in 07 MS fanboys concluded that the 360 had a better year because it had games like Bioshock, ME, and Halo along with great multiplats. Now of course I owned a PS3 and I enjoyed HS, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Warhawk that year along with COD4 and other popular multiplats so the PS3 ALSO had a fantastic year, just according to GS SW rules not as good as the 360s.Now in 08 the PS3 has MGS4 AAAAE, LBP AAAE, plenty of AAE games as well and some more solid games on the horizon like Resistance 2 and Valkyria Chronicles. Thats not even mentioning the fantastic multiplats. So of course by GS SW rules you can see that the PS3 has had a better year in terms of games.

Most popular COD4 or Halo3?
I can't decide which one I like most COD4 or Halo3? And which will be better COD4 or COD5?Most popular COD4 or Halo3?

Then you have take in consideration of the messed up launch. Game is going to bomb hard. Once Resistance 2 and Gears 2 come out nobody is even going to think of LBP anymore.
Fable is proven so there is no surprise there, but LBP, i know the reason why i didn't get it is because 1. no one could tell me what the point of the game was until the reviews came out, and when i asked people, they would just say it is fun (this is pre-release). 2. it just seems not too complicated (as in, i feel as though gameplay would be easy all the time)

I am not shocked at all. They will look at it and while sackboy is cute he is also kiddy looking. There will be the type of people that hang on websites like this that will know what the game is like but in the scope of things that is a small number compared to the amount of people that buy games.

Because your average joe does not care about creating levels. Why people thought this would appeal to casuals, all cause it's got some stupid potato sack man on it i don't know. There casual, not completely stupid. Where as flip the coin you have Fable 2, EXTREMELY easy to get to grips on, VERY simple, hell even the magic doesn't have Mana, you can just spam it. It's designed for the casual RPG player and it sucks in the ''hardcore'' as well, it was always going to happen it's just to many people in here fool themselves into thinking SW = Real life.
The game just doesn't appeal to that many people. For all the talk about it being the new casual game, I know I don't waat to play any 2d side scroller that doesn't have a plumber in it any more, and only that is for nostalgic reasons. There are much more fun gametypes and experiences to have instead of playing through a 2d God of War level as Sackboy Kratos.EDIT: especially when your Sackboy CANNOT attack at all. What a lame design desicion.

This is how a cutesey niche game that's a new IP on a self-styled ''hardcore'' console should sell. Both Viva Pinatas were excellent, but they weren't record breakers... LBP never had a chance to sell in the same ballpark as a game like Fable - good game or no, it's just a poor fit for a blockbuster.

Sony's commercials didnt tell what the game was about, so people outside of the niche market ignored it. Pretty obvious it was going to end up this way.

This is how a cutesey niche game that's a new IP on a self-styled ''hardcore'' console should sell. Both Viva Pinatas were excellent, but they weren't record breakers... LBP never had a chance to sell in the same ballpark as a game like Fable - good game or no, it's just a poor fit for a blockbuster.

I'm always worried that I'll get the RROD on my 360 everytime I turn it on and I try not to play more than one hour at a time. It's kind of unacceptable, really, that the failure rate of the 360 is so high. They each have their pros and cons. The PS3 is just a better built, more reliable system but the 360 has more and better games, although there are more and more multi-plats coming out and good games are coming out for the PS3 as well.

In europe it sure does. I know 10 people who bought PS3 over 360 because it was sony. Ps2's marketshare for Europe was ridiculous..well over 80% last gen. It only had 55% in US so that's why 360 is doing better here, the brand name for Sony is weaker compared to xbox in US than in Europe. This is also why PS3 will struggle to outsell 360 in U.S anytime soon.
So? What's wrong with that? Brand loyaty often shows that you are comfortable the the quality that that name represents. Most companies would kill (literally) for that kind of devotion to their product.

It's well worth the extra $200 I spent on my PS3 for the extra two years of enjoyment I've had with it.As far as the topic goes, I had a Gamecube and Xbox last gen, never had a PS2 so it's not true what you said about brand name. I upgraded my Gamecube to a Wii, but my Xbox I sold and went to PS3.

Anyone else dissapointed in Far Cry 2?
Been playing the 360 version, and so far, IMO..its boring. The game looks amazing, expecially for consoles, but the way the mission are set up and the decision to make you drive long distances to reach a location is tiresome and repetative. The game isn't bad, plays like COD4, but FC2 just feels like a drag. I don't want to go and ask for missions, or have some guys help me out of a sitaution in this hazzy cutscenes all the time.While i like their attempt of making it realistic, its over done. Games should be simple and fun, meaning, just how it plays should feel good, Far cry 2 doesn't, IMO. Same goes with getting tired/blurry vision, etc. Just puts you out of the game too much. Another thing, why does it take so long to kill someone, even on easy?BTW, animations could have been better. Only positive thing i can say, is just the technical and graphical side of things. The occasional firefight can be fun but it just gets annoying after a while. -I don't know how but I have somehow ''abandoned'' one of my buddies. And I have no idea how to get him back.-No quick button for the machete, like with grenades. It's lame having to press ''up'' to select it before you can use it. It may sound extremely minor but it's a little awkward when you're surrounded by 4 armed guards trying to murder you.-Weapons jamming. Does it really matter if the games on the 360 are on another console? It doesn't make the console itself any worse and those multiplats are still pros for buying the system and its not like the 360 doesn't have any exclusives.

If you buy just a 360 you miss out on PS3/PC exclusives, but if you only can afford one system, you get the most bang for your buck with a 360 because it has a huge library of games due to it having so many multi-plats.

Honestly, how much more powerful can they get?PS3 and 360 are putting out great graphics out there. I know there is room for improvement , and the PC can do better now. Yet i have hardtime seeing how the graphics can get better.I know things maybe can improve more on texture, number of enemies, hard-drive capacity, number of players online, but not in graphics.Will we ever say ''WOW, look at PS4 graphics!''...am not sure, i am not sure we will ever say ''ps3 graphics are outdated and hurt the eyes'' like some are saying about past consoles(N64).If you know they can, please explain to me how. To the TC. Look at animated films like Cars and Wall-E. Those are miles better than any console out now could ever hope to do, but yet, they were animated on computers, so theoretically, you could eventually approach that level of detail in games at some point in the (probably very far) future.

Gametrailers reviews are good in that they are all done with great video editing, but the actual content of the reviews are meh..that site doesn't review every game..just major ones.
Crysis had it's presentation score docked because only a few PC gamers could realize the full presentation. As for MGS4 story, haven't played it but I hear it's legendary.
mgs4 fans please take this into account: not everyone loves metal gear. not everyone loves kojima's long winded style. not everyone likes excessively complex plot twists. and not everyone loves long cutscenes.GT is one of the few reviews that took this into account. i showed mgs4 to a friend that is a hardcore gamer that enjoys a large variety of games but a little bit casual and he thought it was crap. the game and the story simply does not have wide appeal.I give GT credit for not listening to the thousands of fanboys that spout abuse in the comments section. they made a good point with that score and stood by it.

Anyone and everyone is free to downlaod the update to use it, a MS rep said so even, however it doesnt allow you to use LIVE until Nov 19th... so install it only if you have no intention on playing online or downloading demos or anything like that.

Anyone and everyone is free to downlaod the update to use it, a MS rep said so even, however it doesnt allow you to use LIVE until Nov 19th... so install it only if you have no intention on playing online or downloading demos or anything like that.

The one thing I noticed, is why isn't the RRoD issue not solved yet? Wasn't it supposed to be fixed from the elite console? But before that, didn't they fix the heat issue on the processor, wasn't that supposed to fix the issue? But before that it was the Clamps that was the issue. However, right before I left I heard about the all powerful Falcon chip, well why hasn't that fixed it?So all in all, What causes the RROD? Why hasn't it been addressed? And WHY oh WHY are the people who get the RROD still buying 360's!? I knew a few people who all got the RROD and not One of them went back to buy the system, in fact one bought a PS3 is happy with it and will not buy another 360 until he knows the issue is resolved.So please tell me, why do you buy a 360? I really want to know. But please don't give me that ''Because the 360 has better games excuse''. What I want to hear is your logic on why you buy a system that is now almost as qualified to break in not an if, but when. Is it because you really like Microsoft? We dont know who will win this gen but we can be pretty sure that MS WILL get a sales boost as peoples warranties run out, Ad with the 360's new price people will just buy new 360's which WILL count towards the fiunal sales...

I have over 50 games for my 360. I also have various addons and such for the console. When the 360 gets RROD you just send it away to get it repaired for free within a 3 year timespan from point of sale. Are you saying your friend was actually considering going out and buying another 360 while he could have gotten another one for free? What did he do with all those games he purchased? And iof he sold them, how much money do you think he lost in the long run?RROD is still a problem for those consoles that were bought early or that are refurbished. If a person bought a 360 at launch and only got RROD recently people will count it as recent. However that 360 was purchased at launch and has absolutely none of the improvements in the 360 to minimize the RROD issue. The reason consoles RROD is because of a heat issue. I'm sure everyone knows that. MS packed quite a lot of hot hardware into a small package and didn't provide adequate cooling probably to cut down on costs. In the long run it cost them more and I'm fairly certain that next gen they will think twice before doing something that stupid. 45nm technology produces a lot less heat than 65nm technology does and due to that the most recent 360's being produced have less of a chance of getting RROD and with the added heatsinks and such it takes even more heat away from the CPU and GPU. There will of course always be a chance of getting RROD MS is merely trying to minimize it.

However it not once broke on me, and I never heard of these ''failure issues'' until the fans of the 360 keep bringing them up to justify their means. They have made several attempts at fixing it, but remember there are still millions of consoles on the market from 2005-early 2007. those still break.

I've noticed the exact opposite. Threads about rrod are wayyyyy down from pre-Falcon. Threads about new consoles failing are infrequent, no more frequent than threads about PS3's and Wii's dying.As for older pre-Falcon 360's, it wasn't until a few months ago that people started receiving Opus consoles for their non-HDMI warranty repairs. Personally I think MS messed up by having Opus come out so much later than Falcon, since sending customers back unreliable Xenon systems kept the issue of reoccuring rrod alive. I expect rrod to fade from prominence with Opus systems being sent to pre-HDMI console owners, and with the much more reliable Falcons and upcoming Jasper systems sold to new owners. It'll never completely go away though. It's a general hardware failure code, there will aways be a percentage of defective systems out there.

Fallout 3 is a good game, but so far I've not been real impressed by it's side quests. Yet I keep hearing how great they are. I've done Blood Ties, I thought that one was very good. I did the Replicated Man and the one with the Ghouls at Tenpenny Tower, I liked those okay. I did the one with Lamplight and the slaves @ Paradise Falls. I'd like a quest with a good story or twist behind it. I don't need to know any details about quests in the game. I'll take your word for it if you say it's good. I would just like to know what it's called and where I can find it. It seems that finding them just means going a little out of my way, was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Generally I love exploring, but I just haven't felt as compelled to do so in Fallout. Some good side quests might get me more excited and into the game. Ive found this really cool quest that gives you loads of money: Go to the Library (you can get the directions at the National Archives from the Protectron Gibbot) and you will find some Paladins from the Brotherhood. Speak to the woman of the group, and she will ask for ''Pre-War Books'' and she will pay you 100 caps per book. Pretty neat right?Also, if you go to the Museum, and enter the Underground, and speak with the leader (the guy who welcomes you) you can trade with him scrap metal for meds Stims, Rad, etc.

Near the top right corner of the map, there's a place called Oasis. Find it. There's a pretty sweet quest there. ;)

^^^yea the games pretty good, lovin it alot more then oblivion, its just feels so much better and its alot of fun too, alot of exploring, i've only been to megaton, the minefield town and the super saver grocery store with the raiders and man is it not only sorta tough but a ton of fun
I did the Wasteland Survival Guide quest completely. Someone told me to do a quest called ''Those!''. Where can I find that one. I'll try the one in the Oasis. I also talked to some lady that advanced the story greatly. In fact I'm told she advanced it past the half way point. I didn't even mean to do that. She was in rivet city.
Go to the Scrapyard and look around and you'll find something cool.Also do the Steal the Independence quest.

Ive found this really cool quest that gives you loads of money: Go to the Library (you can get the directions at the National Archives from the Protectron Gibbot) and you will find some Paladins from the Brotherhood. Speak to the woman of the group, and she will ask for ''Pre-War Books'' and she will pay you 100 caps per book. Pretty neat right?Also, if you go to the Museum, and enter the Underground, and speak with the leader (the guy who welcomes you) you can trade with him scrap metal for meds Stims, Rad, etc.

^^^yea the games pretty good, lovin it alot more then oblivion, its just feels so much better and its alot of fun too, alot of exploring, i've only been to megaton, the minefield town and the super saver grocery store with the raiders and man is it not only sorta tough but a ton of fun

I also talked to some lady that advanced the story greatly. In fact I'm told she advanced it past the half way point. I didn't even mean to do that. She was in rivet city.
Go to the Scrapyard and look around and you'll find something cool.Also do the Steal the Independence quest.

Hello, im a major fighting game junkie, i have a ps3 and a 360.I wanted to pick up a copy of battle fantasia for 360, but i just cant bring myself to because of the retarded 360 dpad.Battle fantasia was only realeased for ps3 in asia.So here is my question, I saw a 360 joystick controller and was wondering how it was. In your opinions would it be a better idea to order a copy of battle fantasia for ps3 from japan, or are there and decent game pads or joysticks avalible for 360? For those of you who care to try:This glitch gets you past the barriers in the demo. Use the slide glitch to get into the underground water, then swim over to the door on the mound on the west side of town, then jump over the invisible gap in the water, and let youself float to the top, then swim along the wall towards the north side, by the lake. Just put a flat object into your vehicle, and stand on it. It won't detect that you are on your vehicle, so you can pick it up, with you on top of it. Remember once you're outside of teh barriers, don't talk to people with holograms, because the content is not available and it will throw a disc read error and kick you out of the game. This thread is to address the obvious bias found in publications. The facts and logic are simple. Gaming publications are a form of media that thrive on their public. This is because it is inheriently the public that makes them money. The more people that frequent the site, the more they make.That said, there will always be websites that will endulge in biased reviews in order to pull certain demographics in. Whether this means feeding the lems, feeding the cows, feeding the hermits, feeding the sheep... and yes, feeding the mantacore.This is of course only the basics. Fable 2 is too short and too easy, and it has a lot of useless stuff in it that doesn't effect the story whatsoever. I keeps seeing all these ads, for every choice a different destiny, what a joke, the only real choices are at the end of the game.

I disagree with Heart and Soul, only MGS1 is a better game than MGS4.

I like fable 2 better. MGSIV has to be the most overrated game of all time.
Well I think mgs4 is rediculously overrated, but it's still better than fable 2, which I also think is overrated (yes I didn't enjoy it all that much, 7-7.5 for me).
Why are you comparing these games anyway...?
I could come out and say...hmmm....Heavenly Sowrd is better than Halo 3.... who cares they are completely different games.
But if you want to be objective about which game is better its obviously MGS4- it owned F2 in most if not all reviews.
MGS4 is better than Fable 2.
