The one thing I noticed, is why isn't the RRoD issue not solved yet? Wasn't it supposed to be fixed from the elite console? But before that, didn't they fix the heat issue on the processor, wasn't that supposed to fix the issue? But before that it was the Clamps that was the issue. However, right before I left I heard about the all powerful Falcon chip, well why hasn't that fixed it?So all in all, What causes the RROD? Why hasn't it been addressed? And WHY oh WHY are the people who get the RROD still buying 360's!? I knew a few people who all got the RROD and not One of them went back to buy the system, in fact one bought a PS3 is happy with it and will not buy another 360 until he knows the issue is resolved. So please tell me, why do you buy a 360? I really want to know. But please don't give me that ''Because the 360 has better games excuse''. What I want to hear is your logic on why you buy a system that is now almost as qualified to break in not an if, but when. Is it because you really like Microsoft? Is it because you just love the console to much to not part with it? Or just what may be the reason?Been gone for a while and I just noticed ...
i havent heard about any new 360s RRODingBeen gone for a while and I just noticed ...
i havent heard about any new 360s RRODing
Really, cause I have only been on here for a week and think it's a bigger issue now than when I left.
thats what releasing it a year earlier did for them. rushed hardware = rrod
thats what releasing it a year earlier did for them. rushed hardware = rrod
Well, it's been out for 3 years now, it should of been resolved right?
thats microsoft for you.
Its hard to tell if the 360s on the store shelfs are fixed because almost nobody is buying them anymore. Maybe next year when they are $99 I'll get one for my five year old.

Not just once, but again and again.
coz 360 is simply the best console
I have over 50 games for my 360. I also have various addons and such for the console. When the 360 gets RROD you just send it away to get it repaired for free within a 3 year timespan from point of sale. Are you saying your friend was actually considering going out and buying another 360 while he could have gotten another one for free? What did he do with all those games he purchased? And iof he sold them, how much money do you think he lost in the long run?RROD is still a problem for those consoles that were bought early or that are refurbished. If a person bought a 360 at launch and only got RROD recently people will count it as recent. However that 360 was purchased at launch and has absolutely none of the improvements in the 360 to minimize the RROD issue. The reason consoles RROD is because of a heat issue. I'm sure everyone knows that. MS packed quite a lot of hot hardware into a small package and didn't provide adequate cooling probably to cut down on costs. In the long run it cost them more and I'm fairly certain that next gen they will think twice before doing something that stupid. 45nm technology produces a lot less heat than 65nm technology does and due to that the most recent 360's being produced have less of a chance of getting RROD and with the added heatsinks and such it takes even more heat away from the CPU and GPU. There will of course always be a chance of getting RROD MS is merely trying to minimize it.

However it not once broke on me, and I never heard of these ''failure issues'' until the fans of the 360 keep bringing them up to justify their means. Hey if my PS2 ever died on me, you can bet I wouldn't of bought another one. Also if I heard of the PS2 having as much failures as I hear the 360 has, I wouldn't of bought it as well.
It's always going to be an issue as long as the ones that are still out there haven't been fixed. Even more, what will happen when a person who's had their 360 longer than 3 years gets RRoD after the warranty expires?
They have made several attempts at fixing it, but remember there are still millions of consoles on the market from 2005-early 2007. those still break.
It's always going to be an issue as long as the ones that are still out there haven't been fixed. Even more, what will happen when a person who's had their 360 longer than 3 years gets RRoD after the warranty expires?
I was wondering about that myself, basically, when Microsoft stops supporting the 360 all the games on it will be null and void. So basically you will be stuck with a dead 360 and all the games that go with it and no way to play them. For crying out loud my Atari, NES, SNES, PS1, Genisis, N64 and DC all still work so I am able to play any game I want on them. However I wont be able to do that with the 360, or any of it's games. So lets face it, if you are buying 360 games right now, all you are doing is wasting money on something you wont be able to go back and play in 3 years. So again I want to know, what's the point of doing that if I can get the games all on the PC which will last for a long, long time.

I used to wonder the same thing though....and this is one main reason as well as others that I haven't purchased a 360 yet.......I can't be stressed to always be worried that my system might die as soon as I turn it on one day :|
I've noticed the exact opposite. Threads about rrod are wayyyyy down from pre-Falcon. Threads about new consoles failing are infrequent, no more frequent than threads about PS3's and Wii's dying. As for older pre-Falcon 360's, it wasn't until a few months ago that people started receiving Opus consoles for their non-HDMI warranty repairs. Personally I think MS messed up by having Opus come out so much later than Falcon, since sending customers back unreliable Xenon systems kept the issue of reoccuring rrod alive. I expect rrod to fade from prominence with Opus systems being sent to pre-HDMI console owners, and with the much more reliable Falcons and upcoming Jasper systems sold to new owners. It'll never completely go away though. It's a general hardware failure code, there will aways be a percentage of defective systems out there.

What're some good Fallout 3 Quests (poss ...
Fallout 3 is a good game, but so far I've not been real impressed by it's side quests. Yet I keep hearing how great they are. I've done Blood Ties, I thought that one was very good. I did the Replicated Man and the one with the Ghouls at Tenpenny Tower, I liked those okay. I did the one with Lamplight and the slaves @ Paradise Falls. I'd like a quest with a good story or twist behind it. I don't need to know any details about quests in the game. I'll take your word for it if you say it's good. I would just like to know what it's called and where I can find it. It seems that finding them just means going a little out of my way, was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Generally I love exploring, but I just haven't felt as compelled to do so in Fallout. Some good side quests might get me more excited and into the game. Anyways, I'd appreciate any suggestions! What're some good Fallout 3 Quests (poss ...

Ive found this really cool quest that gives you loads of money: Go to the Library (you can get the directions at the National Archives from the Protectron Gibbot) and you will find some Paladins from the Brotherhood. Speak to the woman of the group, and she will ask for ''Pre-War Books'' and she will pay you 100 caps per book. Pretty neat right? Also, if you go to the Museum, and enter the Underground, and speak with the leader (the guy who welcomes you) you can trade with him scrap metal for meds Stims, Rad, etc.
how do you find the paradise falls one?

I am willing to bet that Guitar Hero 4 will be reviewed in about 2 weeks.
The day's not over yet. They could all still be posted sometime tonight.
Maybe whatever game you want to look at got a lower than wanted score and the game producers put time restrictions on the lower score being published.
Honestly I think GS is having a discussion with MS about Gears 2's score to see what they would like it to be. The review is done, but the score isn't.
The more the game is played, the more accurate the review.

D-Pad
Hello, im a major fighting game junkie, i have a ps3 and a 360.I wanted to pick up a copy of battle fantasia for 360, but i just cant bring myself to because of the retarded 360 dpad.Battle fantasia was only realeased for ps3 in asia.So here is my question, I saw a 360 joystick controller and was wondering how it was. In your opinions would it be a better idea to order a copy of battle fantasia for ps3 from japan, or are there and decent game pads or joysticks avalible for 360? Like a madcatz or somthing. And i will obviously not use any dpad that is on a disk...D-Pad

BK: N&B Demo Glitches
For those of you who care to try:This glitch gets you past the barriers in the demo. Use the slide glitch to get into the underground water, then swim over to the door on the mound on the west side of town, then jump over the invisible gap in the water, and let youself float to the top, then swim along the wall towards the north side, by the lake. Swim under the sand, and then call your vehicle.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=eGFgJw7GsrgThis glitch lets you float with your vehicle, to get to high up places quickly. Just put a flat object into your vehicle, and stand on it. It won't detect that you are on your vehicle, so you can pick it up, with you on top of it. Pretty straight forward.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ofCw4rLV1l0%26feature=relatedI didn't find these glitches, but i've been able to do them both. Remember once you're outside of teh barriers, don't talk to people with holograms, because the content is not available and it will throw a disc read error and kick you out of the game. Also, make sure to activate the transporter in the center of showtown, so that you can activate the other ones and get back there should you end up inside the barriers again.BK: N%26amp;B Demo Glitches
lol you redid this thread. Man I tired to do the glitch, but I got lost and said forget it. I'll just wait for the full game. you really can't doanything aside from exploring a little more.BK: N%26amp;B Demo Glitches

But ya it doesnt add much else to the game except a few empty parts boxes and extra notes to collect, still a good time waster for those wanting to waste more time on the demo.
That's amazing how that dude figured that out.
I know. I was trying to find a glitch past the barriers for hours until i looked on youtube and found someone already had. Every game has its glitches (usually on slanted areas meeting flat walls)...

Gaming publications and biasness
This thread is to address the obvious bias found in publications. The facts and logic are simple. Gaming publications are a form of media that thrive on their public. This is because it is inheriently the public that makes them money. The more people that frequent the site, the more they make. That said, there will always be websites that will endulge in biased reviews in order to pull certain demographics in. Whether this means feeding the lems, feeding the cows, feeding the hermits, feeding the sheep... and yes, feeding the mantacore. This is of course only the basics. Marketing skewing content can be much more complicated then just this.Gaming publications and biasness
Well usually reviews are biased, but not always. Say a reviewer is a fan of the series or the exculsive platform its on. There are variables that may influence the review but nothing too much.Oh and is biasness even a word?Gaming publications and biasness
i really don't have a gripe with any worldwide media, gamespot, IGN, eurogamer, Edge, the're all unbiased as far as i'm concerned, can't say the same about the Portuguese media though (i'm portuguese BTW) other then two websites (PTgamers and mygames) everything else is so sony bias it's not even funny
